1. It was not the Imam who chose the site, he only wanted to build a COMMUNITY CENTER[/h] near his neighborhood, he already has a Mosque 10 blocks from Ground Zero, and he already literally told to the media that [b]IT'S NOT GOING TO BE A MOSQUE[/h].I see. Thank you for clearing that up with me.

2. The Land was already BOUGHT BEFORE the planning of this Community center by Sharif El Gamal owner of SoHo Properties who baought the land, who is also one of the Imam's lower Manhattan congregation. When they finally planned to make this COMMUNITY CENTER, he apparently offered that private land for the sake of the project, cause that's the only land he has in Lower Manhattan that fits the criteria.Ah, so it really was a coincidence that the design plans fit the land. Basically, I haven't been strictly keeping up with all the facts. I'm sorry that I may have upset you with my ignorance, although I never stated anything as fact.

still I don't think build mosque near the site is good ideaWhat makes building a community center (NOT a mosque, mind) two blocks away from Ground Zero any worse of an idea than having a strip club the same distance away?

Normally I wouldn't do a video response to this section, but this guy said my opinion so well that I can't word it any better. The weird thing is he and I don't always have similar opinions, and I often find him annoying.http://www.youtube.com/watch.*?v=oPC.*?
Perhaps you're realizing his wisdom. Still though, it appears that Imam Rauf purposely chose a site as close as possible to Ground Zero to build his mosque. It would be understandable if it was by coincidence the most compatible site for his blueprints, but to specifically pick that site, is really just trying to provoke people.
I would take him more seriously, but unfortunately finding a video of his like that is basically finding a needle in a haystack. Normally he draws something on and on and on that's really pointless and just not really worth talking about for 9:59 minutes.

...a mosque, intended to be run separately from Park51 but open to and accessible to all members, visitors and our New York community
Get mad at all these ignorant people all you want, but the "bigots" will be confused that there will be a mosque 2 blocks away from GZ as long as the official site has this up on their page.
Is that why "assholes" can run around saying nigger using the first amendment as their shield? Oh, wait...

I know this is one of the most confusing thing that needs to be fixed right now.
Many people that I saw in some videos already explained that there's going to be a floor in one of the 15 floors to be dedicated as a makeshift mosque. (Imam Abdul Rauf, Keith Olbermen, Zaid Ramadan, etc ,etc)
They just failed at explaining that to public clearly.
well, I can't do anything about that, since I can only email them something but can change the content.

Yes, they can. The only reason alot of people don't is because other assholes will pretty much instantly call you racist and try to kick your ass. But oh yes, because you physically took me down, means you're also logically correct. Not that I'm even racist, just stereotypical. I laugh at "racist" jokes not because I actually think that's how every demographic is like, but because I know that that kind of image exists, and I can laugh at it.

Is it a damn mosque or not?The mosque is a part of the community center. People are calling it just a "mosque" because they object to that part of it.
Look at it this way: It's like calling a mall only "Dillard's" or "Macy's" because you have an objection to just that store.

Or like, calling a mall a church just because there is a small church somewhere inside the mall.

Not sure if I am correct in saying there is sarcasm in your statement, but here it is anyway.
We could look at it this way: When people tell their friends they want to go to the YMCA which is housed in a mall, they might say, "Let's go to the YMCA" opposed to, "Let's go to the YMCA which is located in the mall" because naming the building as a whole is unnecessary because it is not the point of interest.

Do you think I'm stupid and/or unwise? Be honest. I just think all you needed to say was, "Not exactly; the mosque is a part of the community center"
And so we're back to square one, where there is an actual mosque, and that it appears that Imam Rauf purposely chose to build a mosque as close as possible to Ground Zero.

It's all nice and all, but a mosque is still a mosque regardless of if it is only a portion of the building.
Point is, they are still building a mosque. It might be a part of something larger, but it is still a mosque.
Your mall point. They build a mall, but they are still building a Macy's in it. You can say that they are building a Macy's there. It doesn't make it any less true that there are other shops, Macy's is still freaken there.
Trying to say it's "Mostly a community center" doesn't change the fact that they are still building a mosque in it.
So arguing against it being a mosque is pointless because they are wanting to build a mosque no matter how you cut it.

Way to completely miss the point of my analogy.
