Bravely Default/Bravely Second

Yeah, that was p much the plan. I'm just still too disappointed to have played the fight again yet because I still feel that whatever team I want to use should be viable, but whatevs. I'll deal.
Hyped for Bravely Second.

This is hilarious. Squenix president admits that casualized, mass market appeal garbage is garbage.
>Bravely Default, a jrpg meant for core jrpg japanese audience
>Good game; fun as fuck
>FF13
>Linear, streamlined, "Lightningu is mai waifu" trash
>Shit game
Brings a smug tear to my eye.
Matsuda continues, “On the other hand, there are games like the JRPG we made for the Japanese audience with the proper elements, Bravely Default, which ended up selling well all around the world.”
“With that in mind, and all of the collective fans, there’s a sense of mass, which loses the image of a niche market,” continues Matsuda. “For the new games we’ll be developing from this point on, while this may sound a bit extreme, we’ve been talking about making them as heavy JRPGs. I believe that way, we can better focus on our target, which will also bring better results.”

Looks like Square finally realized how retarded they were. I haven't played Bravely Default yet but it sounds like it was a step in the right direction. I hate it when Japanese developers think they need to make games that appeal globally.

Input Gold Rank Here
It was because of the flawed of logic of "appealing to more people means more money"... which it does not, but yeah, well, flawed logic is op.

... They just realized this now? We were screaming this since FF13 came out. Well, better late than never. Now, if ONLY Capcom can fix their shit.

Spoiler:
There are actually only one or two exceptions that succeeded with that mindset. Souls franchise and to a certain extent, dragon's dogma.
we’ve been talking about making them as heavy JRPGs. I believe that way, we can better focus on our target, which will also bring better results
According to some the japanese wording translates more to "could be possible" than "we'll actually consider it". Hence why we shouldn't get our hopes up too much.

Both great games too. I just meant that I'd rather have Japanese devs do what they want... I don't want them forcibly thinking that they need to appeal globally or anything. If they feel like making games like Souls and Dogma then that's fine if that's what they actually want to make.

I realized my original Japanese edition is not compatible with the "For the Sequel" version. I am unable to see all of you as companions in my game. T_T

T_TThe "For the Sequel" version of Bravely Default was released as DLC for the original version in Japan and it costs 2900 yen. As for the compatibility issue, I think its because they made more than a few game play tweaks: damage calculation; re-balancing certain classes (Pirate for example); adding two more save slots; adding in story elements for the sequel to build upon. To boil it down even more simply, it's because the "For the Sequel" version is using the version of the engine that will be used in Bravely Second and it's also an expansion pack.
