2. Other players in human form and not in the covenant must wander into the forest.
From my understanding those are the only two conditions but I have only been summoned 4 or so times in a week, and a couple of those were players who hang out in the forest well-prepared for PvP with the intent to kill us forest hunters. You don't have to wait around in the forest, you can go do something else as long as you're wearing the ring. Then wait...
If you're like me, you'll simply forget about it until it suddenly says "Invading another world".

fighting seath the scaleless is getting pretty annoying, hes only living because i want to cut off his damn tail. 50% damanage only on tail and its still isnt coming off :(

Its online because you're invading other peoples gamesYou can get NCP invaders in either online or offline.
But I'm not sure if the Forest hunter covenant has offline invaders it does if it includes NCP invaders but I don't know.

The wait is only their because people suck at staying alive in human form. Since there are no penalties for being hollow other than looking like a dead homeless guy people just stay in that form. Unlike demon's souls where Soul form was like being cursed in this game but had benefits like increased ATK.

I'm certain it's an online-only pvp covenant. I've forgotten that I had the ring on while playing offline a couple times and never got summoned. I want the fog ring to defend myself when being invaded, but didn't want to trade my lantern. Might have to at this rate.
I agree. Heck, I've been in hollow form most of the time myself. The low number of human-form players in the forest along with probably a decent amount of forest hunters waiting to be summoned means a low chance of being chosen :(

I only ever turn my self human to kindle fires I never knew any other reason to become human till I found out about invaders.
