>_> so many souls lost to random stupid stuff... I could of been lvl 50 by now!!!!
Edit: You should head for the sewers before you go there. Get there by the door right before the dragon bridge.
Edit2: You guys know how to kill the knight with the giant club? Considering he oneshots me still >_>

Also, There's a special weapon that you can get after your first boss fight. You'll need about 50 - 60 arrows for it and it simply requires that you shoot the red dragon's tail from under the bridge. The path to the lower part of the bridge is to the right of the knights. Go through the door on your left and you'll see a ladder, Kick it and you'll have a shortcut. Go back and kill the two knights under the bridge then start Shooting the dragon's tail. If the dragon doesn't spawn, Kill yourself and go back to that area. Shooting off the tail gives you a Rare dragon weapon called the drake sword. Its stat requirements are a little high so lvl up if needed. The downfall about this sword is that it doesn't get stronger as you do but can be upgraded with Dragon scales *Not recommended*. Two handing this weapon gives it's Heavy attack a special attack but it drains DUR so don't use it.
It's great for killing monsters quickly and it's fairly fast.
One last thing... DON'T even try to kill Black Knights (Very tall and always guarding something) as they will hand you ass to you unless you have the drake sword. If you picked the Master key when you made your char, Don't fight the NPC at the bottom of the stairs before the first boss unless you have the drake sword. His attacks are 1HKOs but are slow so it gives you a Opportunity to back stab him. He drops a ring that grants "Equipment load UP".
Both of these monsters require Effective dodging skills and knowing how to backstab. Fighting them head on leads to a quick death.
A small guide and I hope you find it helpful.
EDIT: Forgot to mention arrows; You can buy them from the same merchant i mentioned and the cost 10 souls each. If your low on souls you can abuse the bonfire's revive effect and farm souls until you have enough. Never buy wooden arrows as they are weak.
Plus Rep for being great, mate.
However, the zombie merch doesn't sell any trans curse for me. The drake sword is a great catch, though, and it has boosted my spirits for the game, but I just can't figure out what to do.

Actually, no I didn't! I was just looking at my post preview for a while then posted. I refreshed now and just saw White Glint giving me advice. Hahaa~
Thanks, mate!
EDIT: Also, if you mean the mace-using giant knight in the parish with the tower shield then you can try what I did and use the haliberd you find in front of the parish (where you go down the steps to pull a lever and open the gate to where the metal pig was). With the haliberd you can attack from a distance. Keep out of range and go for an attack whenever he finishes a move. There'll be a delay when he needs to pull back. Attack once, then get out of the way. I whittled him down that way.
EDIT 2: NEVERMIND! I finally know what you two meant by door and basement key. I can finally relax again. THANK GOD!

If you really want something powerful before fighting the Moonlight butterfly hunt down the black knight in the ally way in area before Taurus. He might drop his Great sword if your lucky. Just keep backstabbing him. It's a great weapon and i'm killing off bosses in just a few hits; Killed the catacombs boss in only 5 hits while two handing it. It also gets a Special R2 attack for 1H and 2H (Thrust for 1H and 2H for powerful upward slash)Ah, I remember that butterfly thing. Caught a glimpse of it when I prematurely ran past that goliath and into the forest.
Taurus was the armored boar, right? Before you reach the Undead Parish?
P.S. You guys fucking rock for this. I never would've expected to find people not only willing to help but being so helpful too.

Chore? I'm completely addicted. This game teases you, with hidden pathways and bosses than you can't even challenge at early levels. It's extremely punishing. But I haven't felt the satisfaction a downing a boss after hours of constant dying in a very very long time. Specially in a console game.
Also for other people. I've found a ring that give me 20% more hp, stamina and load. Also got a 1h sword that has 200 damage :) BUT I AINT TELLING WHERE! (the sword is pretty obvious)

Oh, do you or does anyone else know where I go to redeem my code for solving the rune puzzle on the Dark Souls website? The dumbasses emailed it to me but didn't tell me what to do with it or where to go.

Mine just came this morning hope it's not really as hard as people say.
It's funny they didn't say the "Guide Book" was downloadable before it came out I think a downloadable art book and an actual guide book would of been nicer but I'd of preferred not digital.
EDIT: I just got out of the asylum and thought it wasn't that hard but now it's getting a bit annoying having to keep doing the same thing over and over again.
I'm just wondering how does leveling up work I leveled up once but didn't really notice why there isn't any thing to tell me when I next level up I think.
Why can't there be a check point before a boss?
Been playing for 6 hours and I have no clue what I'm doing or where I need to go?

Bah that sucks, The drake sword is still nice though and if you REALLY want the black knight sword go back to the Undead Asylum. Here's a tutorial since it's hard to explain in text. The enemies are harder as well so clear the area before you fight him.
Spoiler:
There's a black knight up the hill where you get your shield for the first time but he's a pain. Lure him into a room WITHOUT water (Unless you have the rusty ring) and keep backstabbing. That's the only other Great sword BK i know about for now. Also, There's another Black knight guarding a key item in the cell you started in. He has a Great sword too ;3.
I have no clue what your talking about... I've never been to the DS website lol.
EDIT: Just finished Blight town, Time to go to Sen's fortress.

WAIT! I just got the guide book in, and it says to go to the Hollow Whatever area first.
In the swamp to the left of where you enter (where all those fire-spewing fly-man-gator things are), there's a large pale trunk or branch that twirls up into a deadend. Run up it into the dead end. Hit the grassy wall there and it fades into another room with a chest. Behind the chest is another grassy wall. Hit that and you have a clear path into the Hollow Forest (I think it's called).
_You'll find a rest area there, so kindle that and continue forward. The biggest problem is finding a path that won't lead to a sudden death.
That's where I'm up to. Also: Don't use the soul of the spider-bitch because I think you can get a weapon from that eventually.

Spoiler:
Think of Heal and great heal as a "I need to save my flasks for bosses" skills. 4000 souls is a starter amount, it'll cost over 8,000+ souls eventually just to lvl once so save your "Lost souls" until you really need them.
The guy in gold will kill her if you dont kill him but if he does there's another maiden in a hidden room after you ring the second bell. KILL HIM before he kills her. It'll be difficult since your most likely going to want more HP to tank with but your flask can't handle the amount you have meaning you'll have to use more.
The BK sword is a Semi-Rare drop but if you dont get that then stick with the drake sword. I used mine until i beat the gaping dragon (Easy boss). I currently only have the BK halberd and great sword but no luck with the sheild.
EDIT: Keep Boss souls because you can craft rare weapons with them. Also, If you want to fight the Hydra I HIGHLY recommend getting the rusty ring.
How to get the ring: Take the path to get to the bird's nest that you use to get to the Undead Asylum. Instead, Find the path that leads to the roof the building (To the left?) and you'll see a item. That's the key you'll need to get the ring. The ring allows you to move freely through water and swamps without slowing down.
