Feels bad when your a 360 player and you only see few phantoms... running around... Place white soapstone... nobody wants to QWOP....So far in my 15 hour playthrough.. I've only seen 2 soul signs for co-op... fuckin sucks bro..
That's a shame, but not how it is for everyone. Although I've had trouble getting summoned as a Forest Hunter, I've had much success with coop and made a couple friends doing it.

Getting summoned depends heavily on your level. Not sure what exactly is the range but if you are above or below, you wont see the signs for summon.

Anyone have reccomendations on what to do when I start?
I was thinking of being a wanderer and getting the master key if possible.
I know for them most part how to get them drake sword... But does anyone know I should set my stats?
Obviously I haven't started yet, but I do want to be prepared since I'll be absobed into it on friday

I choose thief class because it comes with the master key and I like the armor and pendant for the gift since those are the only two items that aren't disposable.
People say you should only put stats on strength and dexterity for equipping weapons but I find I am more efficient at killing my enemy with them high. I plan on increasing every thing else as well.
So far i am

I played for about 10 hours and decided to restart cause I killed the merchant. It's kind of annoying I can't pause the game. Some one asks for you or you need to do some thing and they're like what do you mean you can't pause it you lazy ass.
I feel your pain~

Ok, that sounds roughly how I would set my stats. I heard alot of nice weapons needed str and dex to wield.
So thief automatically gets the key? What does the pendant do exactly?

The pendant is meant to be story related or some thing so far I haven't seen any use of it. Every other item is useless because you can just find them in the game.

Master key: Cannot be obtained
Divine blessing: There's like 7 - 12 every playthrough
Twin humanities: Only 8 of these can be found
Tiny demon ring: Mid game item (Early if your brave enough)
Black fire bombs: Useful during the early stages of the game
Pendant: It doesnt really have a use
The witch's stone or w/e is used to talk to the chaos witch in queelag's domain but your starting gift should always be Master key. It allows you to clear blight town with little to no effort and access other highly useful shortcuts. The other gifts are useful in many ways but there hidden in some of the weirdest locations. The 6th and 7th divine blessing is tucked away in far left corner of lost izalith's lava field behind tree trunks. The gifts just allow you to get ahead of the game just a little. If your smart you would pick twin humanities and think of it as a way to get more. Just revive to human with it and fight bosses as a phantom until your able to farm them from baby skeletons.

Spoiler:
I've had quite a bit of humanity early in the game I think I've had about 11 so far just before the Toros demon. I read you can trade the pendant for some thing but I thought it would give me extra cut scenes or some thing with it meant to be story related.
Why don't skeletons give souls?
So far I'm deciding whether to Kill the Hellkite dragon, Titanite Demon, or a guy I think is a mage I spotted in the chapel.

Well I'm definitely taking then key, thats for sure.
I read up on some of then covenants, but I didn't get as much info as I had hoped.
Does anyone know more about them or a place to read up on it?
I've been writing down a whole bunch of stuff regarding stats and whatnot, and I want to be prepared totally.
I was kinda debating on making a character from one of my comics for the game, so more than likely the covenants may be important for it.

Magic doesn't feel as usefull when you reach Blighttown as it felt in the beginning. I'm just stabbing enemies with my catalist now.Or maybe 30 INT is just not enough....
P.S. Carpa Demon+Sorcerer character= get ready to die ALOT!

Magic is more of a secondary attack method in dark souls now. If you really want to stay true to the Magic builds then use a Rapier or enchanted weapons. Enchanted weapons deal a nice amount of dmg if your built on INT because their main stat is Magic Damage.
PS: If you think ONE is hard... wait till demon ruins.

Normal skeletons: They don't give souls due to being controlled by a necromancer.
Giants: These give souls because they are controlled by nito
Baby skeletons: Idk if they do but with the gold serpent ring they drop humanity 70% of the time.
Save the dragon for later and kill the titanite demons for demon titanite. Just attack from behind and keep your shield up and let your guard down when you need to recover stamina. The mage is a push over so just kill him in a few hits.

Just killed the Titanite Demon it was quite easy I didn't realize I could block him I just assumed he was a boss I couldn't block. He Dropped his weapon as well I think I prefer it to the Drake sword.
I tried to go for the Gargoyles items but they didn't drop any thing the 1st Gargoyle went down in 4-5 hits with 2-3 hits to the tail. The second came with out a tail at the start of the fight and his health bar was at the very bottom.
I think I'll try for Havel now but hes a right pain even with a back stab it only looks like it takes a tenth of his health. I thought it was a good idea I manged to take a black knight out easy with my new weapon it was a bad idea I changed my mind :(
Am I able to trade items for souls at any time?

PS: If you want the Ninja cartwheel dodge then you'll need to wear light/Med weight armor and have the Darkwood ring equipped.
