Check the updates once every once in a while, not going to actively play though. Not right after the launch at any rate.
It is right after launch it's the most fun to play D=
Bug's and the likes, can't stand a script in a game not being performed. I'd prefer to give the producers some time to shave off the sharp edges first.

Im really looking forward to this game since i saw the Presentation on Gamescom 2009 over here in Cologne. Already formed a Party with my friends ^^

What pissed me off most is that they've done a game with low graphic, the graphics from both KotOR's was good for me, so they might as well use the same engine in this game....

Ethil: thanks for the link to the comics. I've actually read quite a bit of them (forgot to mention it I guess) but certainly not all.
Longevity: No it's not set pre-Kotor but a while after but still a long way before the movies.
I like the fact that the game is going to be fully voiced, it means less really stupid long quest explanations. If someone sends you on a fetch quest they'll probably just tell you what to get and vaguely why as opposed to 3 paragraphs of meaningless rant.
As for the story/choice thing I'm pretty sure at least some of your decisions matter as they've said that stuff will be different for you if you go light side/dark side (or whatever for non-force users). How much different I have no idea but given that their goal is to make story an important part of the game I doubt it will be limited to just different mobs in the same place or such (at least further on) as it would be kinda weird for your crazy "I like stabbing people" jedi to be doing the same exact things that your goody goody one does.

They go on saying that "these choices will have an GREAT impact on you gameplay" over and over again, there most be some different things that happens. Also it seems to me like if you don't have to be evil just cuz your a sith and the other way around? Since you get light/dark side points depending on your choices. Does that mean you can be a Evil Jedi but still not a Sith? o.O

Besides, the game is still in its pre-beta stadium, from what I saw in the video it would seem like the interface haven't even been made yet, it's just a shell. I can admit that I'm a bit bugged by the proportions of the characters, like when looking at the smuggler in the video it seems like his forearm is larger than his legs xD But as I said, it's still pre-beta, and most screenshots I've seen of characters have looked quite ok.

Well, I liked KotOR engine better...

Your decision will give you a complete different story, different dungeon, different mobs, different loot.
If you look at the last part of the video, with the 2 man dungeon, he decided to kill the captain. On youtube, search for the GDC walkthrough of the dungeon but by helping the captain, you get a completely different dungeon and end-boss (scripted event).
This is seriously a huge PvE game. It's KOTOR 3-4-5-6-7,etc. They say the story is 5x bigger than any Bioware game.

That's why I'm wondering about the party thing, how can you join a party with someone who doesn't have the same quest line?

Thats the thing, in party thing, someone else will have your decision. All according to a roll.
You can party with people good or bad, but if you want good, and they get the roll to make the choice to go bad, then...you get bad points.

Does that mean you can be a Evil Jedi but still not a Sith? o.OI think indeed it would mean that you'll be a horrible monster of a jedi if you're evil and not a sith, which would make sense as the sith have their own philosophy and it isn't just "we love when you suffer! *wink*". Though it would be kinda cool if there was a choice to effectively switch sides or something. (I kinda doubt it though.)
I agree with Yushi's assessment of grouping. You will probably be doing one specific person's mission and that person will make the choices. Then again (I may be remembering this wrong or something) I thought I saw a video where two different characters had choices of things to say. While I think that option would be kinda interesting (after all you are grouping with a real person whose character isn't a mute) it might also be annoying to have someone fuck up how you wanted a quest to go by making decisions you don't think suite your character. I suppose either way would be fine with me.
As for graphics we have to keep in mind that MMO's have to cater to the lowest PC specs possible they think will play the game. This doesn't really bother me as sometimes that person with a shitty computer has been me and MMO graphics are never really all that amazing anyway so it's not a feature I really pay attention to.

It seemed like the main dialogue choices are for the party leader and the reaction to those choices are given to the party members. Giving the party members chances to counteract the light/dark points given from the leaders choices.

@Ramsus: Lol, when you said "effectively switching side" the idea that popped up in my head was a large battle, filled with Jedi and Sith, and all of them find themselves switching side all the time, and everybody is in a large confusion, killing at sight xD
Hmm, yea, I guess that sounds fair.

Hahaha. That would be amusing. Though after the fact they'd have to call it The War of the Last One Standing. I meant more like an official "fuck you guys I'm a Sith now" or "Screw this Sith crap, evil doesn't pay (seriously, the Jedi live off of The Republic's tax money)." sort of thing.
Thanks for clearing that up Tsujoi. That way of working things makes a lot of sense and I bet has some very amusing choices of what gets said. (Jedi: We should always show compassion even to our enemies. Smuggler: Yes, who doesn't love the irony of getting killed by some guy they let get away with trying to kill them before. Jedi: *scowls*)

I'm look very forward to this game. I liked KotOR and it's story, and now there is going to be an mmo for it. I will most definitely give it a try when it get's released.

Any of you guys decided what classes you will play, or which ones you're more interested in? For me, I'm most likely going sith, either Inquisitor or Agent, since they seem to fit my game-play most. I think at least I am; I'm hoping that Inquisitor will be anything to have even if you choose not to spec it as a Force-Powers-Spammer, cuz I'm more interested in the Agile-Lightsaber-Fighter spec.

Well my best friend and I are going to have two characters that we only play together. His being a consular and mine being a jedi knight. This is because we're remaking characters we played in the pen & paper game I previously mentioned. We're going to have the fall to the dark side and then when they're maxed out we're going to make their dark side versions and have them end up being sorta gray.
As far as other classes I plan to make a character of everything pretty much immediately and play whichever one I like the feel of the most as my main. I'm guessing Bounty Hunter, Agent, or Consular.

I'm going to make my main character a Trooper. But with the ''fourth pillar'' as story, i trully believe making alt's will be easy and very fun and not just remembering which quest order to do and where every mobs are. So i'm pretty excited to make pretty much every class.

After scouring youtube and different websites for information I found this video, and I recommend that you see it if you're interested in the game.
It's a bit old, but they talk a bit about how the choices will affect the gameplay and the grouping, and also how Faction separates from Morality (yes, it would seem like you cn become a evil Jedi ^^)
