While I like all Star Wars games, I was slightly disappointed with this one. I was hoping for more open-ended game play, and I was rather disappointed to find that you could only fight for the Jedi and the Sith, as I would be much happier fighting for neither. I had hoped for the game to expand a bit farther than a simple two sided conflict, as its rarely ever that simple.

You just apply on the site. I'm pretty sure beta hasn't even started up yet.

You're fighting on the side of the Republic or the side of the Sith Empire. It would kinda be weird if you didn't have to fight for one side or the other as that would be different than pretty much every SW thing ever.

plus you can switch sides. work between the lines and shit. you dont have to stick with one side. you can start off as a jedi and get currupted, or maybe start of as a sith bounty hunter but have a change of heart and work for the republic, etc.
but yeah starwars has always had that duality of good vs. bad with little middle ground to explore. any fan should be used to it by now. in fact, Kotor to my knowledge is the only real media so far to ever actually explore the gray area of starwars to any degree at all. some of the books probably do too but i haven't read any of them.

Not really, If you've read every book, played every game, and seen every movie and every show.
Then you would know that there were many more sides to the battle that simply two, such as in the war against the Yuuzhan Vong, where the Imperial Remnant led by Jagged Fel fought against the Vong on a different front than the Republic. I would prefer to fight for Mandalore.

-_- Isn't the war against the Yuuzhan Vong faaaaaar, faar after SWTOR, during the New Republic? Ofc it would not be in a game that is occurring several thousands of years before. Also, there are mainly two large sized forces, the republic and the Sith that are the main factions at war, you can't add every single minor faction or group to the game. The next best thing you can do is play RP and join a neutral guild, like "Remnants of Mandalore" or "The Agents of the Epoch", cuz' a third party faction will never be (and I am pretty sure that it has never been a playable one in any SW game so far).

Ok yes, if you've read everything sure. But the major iconic SW things are pretty much always 2 or 3 sides (and if it's three, two of them are ganging up on the third).
Also to clarify, you can't switch sides. You can be a dark jedi or a nice sith but you won't actually convert to the other side.

I did not mean to imply that the Yuuzhan Vong should be involved, I was simply using the Yuuzhan Vong war as an example to provide proof of a situation in Star Wars where there were more than two sides involved.

Advance classes revealed. Looks like the 8 classes we were shown are only the beginning class. Probably once you reach a certain level (hopefully something over 10, to give it a bigger fell in progression), you have the chose out of 2 class. Each of those 2 class will have 2 spec. No information yet if you will be able to change class, but you will be able to change spec (speculation).
So out of the 8 characters, we have 16 clases, with a total of 32 specs trees. Each will also have a share spec (for both class) tree, bringing the total of spec to 40. Lots of skill/talent/whatever customization.

Now THIS is what I'm talking about. The game just gets more awesome all the time. Can't wait to play.

Shit, this actually got me kind of wondering... Why dun people do (more) movies like this? I mean, a completely animated movie, with this kind of art style could be much more awesome than any live action movie ever could.

I saw it as one of the first things I did today so I've been pretty happy all day just because of how great that was. I really hope smugglers and agents get to star in one of these kinds of videos though, otherwise...well it'd be like they're countering their own reasoning for including those classes.

I actually can't see that, you'll save in on a lot of things (bad actors for example).
