Xbox One Epic Fail.

Is it an epic fail? Yes.
It was such a let down. I mean all of us wanted to see, but somethings I can't let go. No backwards compatibility; Yes so guess what guys you either sell your games online to buy the new xbox and new upcoming titles or just not buy into this dark sheep of an awesome console. Not able to use used games; That sucks because we all have friends who want to play a game because he can't afford it. which is a downer for me. It's always on, creepy big brother always hearing and watching you with the new kinect.
On the plus side the graphics looks amazing and it would be great to play. But I am not going to buy it.

I wouldn't call it an epic fail. Yes the lack of backwards compatibility will hurt. And for me personally I don't care about used games.
While I'm not a fan of COD, the graphics for the premier was great. Not to mention more players playing at once, the ability to record game play moments. Hell even Halo 4 TV series, which I would usually right off as crappy, but Speilburg is directing it so it might be good, especially if it has a good budget.
The Part where it is always on doesn't faze me, just cover up or don't connect Kinect. Or hell unplug the power cord when not using it.
Just wished they had more details about the gaming part, but I guess that's for E3

-Mandatory Kinect
-Restricts used games & adds fees
-installing games before you play them
-no backwards compatibility
Well I know the Wii U obviously isn't getting all or most console multiplats, so the ps4 is looking pretty appealing now(but not enough to buy at launch window). I might just stick to the PC+3DS+Wii U(ps4 maybe but definitely ps3 since it won't die just yet).

I'm switching to PS4. I'm not going to waste my time on a system that requires me to pay a fee for used games. I also don't like how they focused on the whole media bullshit features, I don't care about watching tv or talking to people on skype while I jerk myself off on camera and play Call of duty: Same shit different skin. I want to play a goddamn video game! and maybe watch a few movies. That's it. Also you need to be connected to install games otherwise how will the system know if your copy of the game is used or not and whether or not it needs to charge you a fee? Plus the console looks like a fucking VCR from the 90's. Micro$oft totally lost focus of what people actually want and instead opted to try and roink every dimwitted individual with half a grand in there pocket into buying there sheepbox piece of garbage.

I'm expecting it to flop even faster than the Dreamcast did. It's about as unappealing as playing Eye of the Beholder while watching The Vampire Clan. If the industry keeps going in this direction, there's going to be another crash within the next ten years from losing too many fans due to stupid decisions.

+1 for PS4, though I'd wait for some games before I buy any console. I'm not too stellar about the whole used games and mandatory Kinect. Is this a preview build or the final product?

If it's easy to hack, it might sell moderately well. I remember hearing that this bolstered some of the sells in favor last time around for Microsoft.

Just want to mention that it also requires online reauthorizing every 24hr to play offline(one time connection needed every 24hr) so that also bad news for those who have no internet at all.

Wait what?
It will not always be online, and it won't even require a persistent internet connection. (It does however 'require' an internet connection but, seriously, #dealwithit)
It will play used games, and rumors about fees have been refuted by the Microsoft Twitter Support.
Both of these were answered today.
Am I the only one that thinks that the Xbox One conference outshines the PS4 one by far?

Hmm...
Seems like a big convoluted mess (that confuses those who work there) that could have been easily clarified with a "Almost same game playing model as last time around, no drm, no fee, pick up a game, install on hdd/cloud (whatever) and play".
Why the secrecy and games? (Bad joke...)

If you want to lend a game to a friend, in order for him to play it on his account on his console, he'll have to pay the full price. So basically, retailers have it high up their ass.
This conference didn't deliver as it should have. The only thing that can save the Xbox are the exclusives. Sony didn't have a bright conference either, but at least they focused on what mattered most.
But what if you want to bring a game disc to a friend's house and play there? You'll have to pay a fee—and not just some sort of activation fee, but the actual price of that game—in order to use a game's code on a friend's account. Think of it like a new game, Harrison said.
"The bits that are on that disc, you can give it to your friend and they can install it on an Xbox One," he said. "They would then have to purchase the right to play that game through Xbox Live."
"They would be paying the same price we paid, or less?" we asked.
"Let’s assume it’s a new game, so the answer is yes, it will be the same price," Harrison said.
But that doesn't mean used games are dead. In fact, Harrison told us, you'll be able to sell your Xbox One games online.

Twitter stated that you can play YOUR GAME if you log on YOUR ACCOUNT on the console aka if you're borrowing it to a friend, they have to pay unless they know your account pw, aka used games require a fee
Spoiler:

Summary of where shit is at right now:
- Games are tied to an account but anyone on that console can play (Phil Harrison genuinely said you have their 'permission' to use the unlock code once, and this requires an internet connection)
- You can play a game at a friend's house if you log into your account, but
- You will have to pay full or almost full price to 'unlock' a recent used game
- You can trade games within their closed market system, but no word on whether you will get actual money, or Microsoft Points, or whether the devs will get a cut (and prices will be artificially steep)
- It won't play 360 games or transfer your XBLA games (and there's no indication that they'll let you stream them)
- The console will need a daily internet connection
- The console will not run without Kinect attached
- They only showed us one example of actual gameplay footage (Ghosts) which told us very little
- It can simulate dogs very accurately
- It can sense your heartbeat and longs to silence it
- It has TV and DVR features but only if you run a DVR through it
- 15 exclusives including 8 new IPs, one of which is Quantum Break (but these could be download titles or by bad studios)
Yeah I'm super hyped

Yes.
The PS4 conference had bigger emphasis on games than the Xbox one conference.

I think the only thing is that Xbox is trying to appeal to a wider audience, and I can't fault them for that. Apparently though you are required to have an internet connection regardless since save files are on the cloud now. I personally don't see the point of the cable thing but it is what it is I suppose.

Oh, so Microsoft is that retarded. I'll make sure to have lower expectations of their business prudence regarding gaming next time.
While Chlor gladly pays fees to watch Halo TV on a wannabe PC and play with digital crotch hounds in CoD: Invisible Turds Edition, signing in daily to reassure his masters he understands that he doesn't own the games he buys, I'll be doing what I want cause a pirate is free.
