Of course porn can affect you... just like anything and everything in life. Lol... I love people that want to ban porn and video games, as if their existence for the last ~30 years of human history account for the same things that have been happening since the dawn of humanity. Explaining millennia of violence, abuse, pedos, etc. because we now have images of that available. And yet... concurrent to the rise of porn and violent media, gov stats from across the entire US and all developed nations show drastic reductions in violent offenses of all kinds (rape incl.) and women's rights have advanced more in the time that porn has existed than any other time in human history. If Porn and violent media aren't the cause of massive reductions in sexism, rape, assault, and murder, then, at the very least, they have not inhibited the reduction in all of those things. For every psychological study that says it's bad or damaging I can find at least one that says it is innocuous, causes no harm, and is beneficial in satiating desires and fulfilling basic human needs.

I've been watching/reading/looking at porn for 16 years now. I respect women, far more than many of my contemporaries, I have strong long term non-sexual and plenty of sexual relationships. I'm happy and content man. My only major issue in life is people like OP trying to force their judgmental, hate filled personal preferences on me and everyone else.

You can use outdated and invalid feminist arguments or biblical preaching to justify your personal preferences onto everyone else, but in the end you're just a person trying to force your preferences, weaknesses, vulnerabilities, fears, etc. on everyone else.

I can't handle my alcohol, so it should be banned.
I have a hard time seeing at night so all night driving should be banned.
I got overly excited by naked ladies so they shouldn't be allowed.
I watched Saw and now I'm a psychopath, all violent movies should be banned.

One last note... there's a difference between prescriptive media (that tells you, instructs you how to act and behave, explains the universe and human existence) and passive media (it's just there for consumption, with no pretense to explain the universe or how things should be). If you want a great example of human capacity to pick and choose our actions and ideologies look at religious folks who are instructed as to how they should go on Jihad, and no sex before marriage, and women go into the woods for two weeks during their period etc. etc. and yet people get over that, and make their own life decisions. There are tons of good people that are religious and read texts that instruct them in all kinds of outdated and horrible things, but they're progressive, modern people. That's interpretation of the Word of God. People can even more easily ignore or adapt their thoughts and behavior to passive media that is there merely for short term pleasure and enjoyment, and expects, or demands nothing more of it's readers.

It's hard to sell something that has been "free" for so long, and still is from many sites. I can understand some people's complaints come from this perspective, and they don't understand economics...

It's really too bad though... all the people comparing to Netflix - with 65 million subs you can charge less. It's called economy of scale. With a smaller group it costs more, and everyone that refuses to pay because some other service costs $x.xx is just ensuring the price of hentai stays high.

I'm sure Jacob is making some money - he and his team deserve to! No one else, not a single fucking person has made an such a successful attempt to ensure that the talented artists in Japan get compensated for the pleasure they provide us, for their hard work and dedication. 200+ pages of quality hentai doesn't come out of thin air!

Everyone just steals and ensures that we're left with nothing but bootlegged and randomly translated censored content. That's the sad thing... just like the diff between buying from iTunes vs torrents, you get more music - more quality, variety, and more ownership and less digital rights protection once it's established and people pay a nominal fee. Hentai could be like that.. but it requires the work of the distributor and the users.

I used to build all my PCs... now I mostly just use it for porn and play games on the console. I didn't believe it until I lived it... sitting at work at a computer all day makes me very disinterested in doing that all night too. Unless there's certain tags involved.... ;)

I think it'd be fair to put that in the other category. Sweet tea is kind of a stretch from the options listed here I feel though... as they're all tea focused as opposed to sugar focused. ;p

So exciting! I know we have access to these already in some ways, but it's nice to be able to support the artists.

I think girls like plot, story, sweet emotions. That's large scale society (I'm guessing this site's women might be a lil diff) and it is because that's what I've been told by review sites and the "women's" porn. I think it's likely bullshit and just a continuation of ohhh women are so sensitive and not as sexual as men. So mostly, I just don't know. =)

If we're going dream girl, it'd be awesome if she was into futanari. It seems to be a mostly male genre though? But realistically, I'd love a girl that liked any hentai. There are 7 billion people in the world... we don't need another child raised by a single mother who doesn't want it in the first place.

IF "pro-life" meant that the child would be fully cared for after the pregnancy then I might not be as inclined to support it. But the reality is, as soon as that kid pops out, no one gives a shit anymore. In fact, the same political party (typically) that is all pro-life immediately turns around and says no kid - no tuition assistance, no free school lunches, fuck you, your food stamps, and your mom that knew she couldn't take care of you. If you're not in the womb it's socialism and that's evil.

True... I actually worked at a local video rental store while Netflix was driving them all out of business and we went with an adult section to stay in business longer. The markup for sale was insane. I guess you do that whenever you can get away with it, lol. But even with real porn the companies and "actors" do still need to get paid and eat.

One thing to remember is even though there is a ton of porn out there, I believe a lot of the sites and companies are unique - meaning they cannot benefit from the economy of scale that a movie studio can. So even while the market is glutted with content, the individual companies still have to each charge a high price to stay in business. But I dunno... maybe they're doing just fine. Once a price is high, unless you truly need to lower it to compete or increase demand you'd be a fool to drop it.

In terms of JAV the cost of fake cum and costumes and paying that bastard who censors everything probably accounts for some of the additional cost.

This... the reality is that there's tons of porn around, it seems like it should be all free... but man, it takes hard work to get good at drawing, and to make a whole manga. And in our society porn isn't something you can easily do on the side - either you're a porn star or you're a banker. You can't do both, because you'd get fired. Sooo... people need to eat, pay rent, live their lives. I know it's harder if you don't make much money, but I'd highly encourage you to pay from the legitimate source anything that you like.
It's the only way we'll continue to get high quality translated products, uncensored hentai, and ensure that the industry doesn't cave under the pressure of prudes and social bullies err activists. =)

I do appreciate a lot of the aesthetic and artistic aspects - so when I'm downloading or occasionally casually reading I'll be more focused on colors, quality, lines, composition.

I'll read literature if I want a plot. That being said... compared to the shit on HGTV or the History channel... if you say you read for plot, I certainly won't judge.

I will say that occasionally I find something that is interesting, thoughtful, emotional enough to focus on reading, but that is very rare. Hey guys, I'm probably getting a new phone soon and I know all the major tech companies are dedicated to censoring porn in any form.... I'm on android right now and Tumblr and Pixiv have full access to their content. Before I switch to Apple I was wondering if anyone knows if the Apple Pixiv or Tumblr Apps are censored? Or otherwise worthless (mostly thinking of Pixiv here)?

The recent Pandra animations have been fantastic production values.... honestly I think the animation is better than Queen's Blade. But Maybe I don't watch enough ecchi to realize that's a stupid comparison?
