Sucks that hentai's getting banned there, I read a little factoid today that said I forgot what country, but they banned Donald Duck comics because he wore no pants. :lol:

If you read the article, it's just banning loli, which they refer to as "hentai". Still a devastating blow, however.

I wish that they would concentrate on bigger important issues like child prostitution and prostitution in general, but hey it's one of the big reasons why there is tourism in the country so why take it away? (that was sarcasm btw).

i am from the philippines and i say our politicians should just drop dead. our politicians know nothing but to fill their pockets with the taxes paid by us, hard working citizens. and now they are focusing on banning hentai instead of trying to resolve problems on poverty & corruption. no wonder this country is going to the dogs. now, if only i had a death note...

As someone who's from the same country, it's not like "Hentai" is something that's "legally" marketed/sold anyway so what's the big deal? The illegal ("pirate") vendors will always find a way to get away with it... just be careful enough not to get caught red handed. :lol:

Canada already did this. As an absurd consequence, you can technically be prosecuted under Canadian law for any image as long as you claim the image depicts minors engaging in sexual activities, regardless of what the image actually is.

The ban on hentai and lolicon-related material appears to be quite high on the agenda of governments around the world these days. Perhaps they are simply jumping on the bandwagon; if one country has passed such a law or bill, others may follow suit, possibly in an attempt to distract the public from their own incapabilities of dealing with major issues such as unemployment, falling national income, etc. Politicians like to show that they "care" for their people.

Anyway, the above is just another one of my conspiracy theories...

If they did that, half of the malls and markets in my hometown would lose their jobs.Seriously, who in the Philippines buys the original copy, when you can get a cheaper pirated one w/c is just as good?

Do you think that the NPA will raid every single computer to see if contains "Lolicon hentai"? That's near impossible. You see the NPA raiding markets that sell pirated movies, but you know that's only for show because everybody would rather purchase pirated copies than original copies.


I'm going to stop ranting about the problems in the Philippines, I always get a headache when doing so.

Indonesia already said this a long time ago, maybe 4 years ago. But it never happen.
For some reason, i might say that the Country is not well powered enough to do that. And so on, that will like that at Philippines, i mean "nothing happen at all".
