We have 2 chapters of licensed succubi chapters that are still available. One was even released a little over a week ago.

We aren't censoring what we're releasing. Jacob has stated numerous times that he believes hentai and ero manga as art and the staff shares the same feelings. Fakku is shifting direction to become fully legitimate so that we can continue to grow and support more artists and have even more amazing (and uncensored) content.

But why are you removing controversial content? I just don't understand what's wrong about having it onsite for users, It had to be one of the most popular categories but what made the decision to remove it again? I'm confused, is it harming your rep or the website? How does going legit have anything to do with controversial content? Please help me understand.

It has nothing to do with whether the content is controversial it has do with the being non-licensed works the "controversial" stuff was just removed first since it was separated before so was easiest to remove. They will be removing almost everything on the site and replacing it with the things published in Wani's magazines comic x-eros and comic kairakuten. They have a backlog of their magazines already translated or being translated so although the company is moving to a pay for site it will have a lot of good uncensored content of different (even controversial) genres.

Thanks for clearing that up.

No. If it comes back or any new succubus or anything what was listed under the monster girl tag will remain monster girl.

Again, I have to ask (since nobody's given me an answer), what exactly is wrong with CR? What is everybody's gripe with it, and why is Fakku turning into a hentai CR such a bad thing?

Also, I feel like there are a lot of people who just pop into this thread without reading anything just to say "bye fakku, fuck you guys y'all suck" or whatever. What is this, a YouTube comment section?

I can't say I'm surprised about some of the reactions regarding FAKKU continuing to go legit and removing unlicensed content. I get people are pissed about transparency and losing free content, but it really isn't like Jacob owes an explanation, or owes people an advanced warning for the removal of content people never paid for in the first place. I mean, if FAKKU's unlicensed content had all been behind a paywall, that would be a different story. At least he gave us users some advanced notice.

Anyway, I love hentai, and I really love ero manga. Like Jacob said in another forum topic, hentai is art, and to me, that's especially true for ero manga. I remember when I got the first ero manga I bought, in the mail. I opened it and looked through it. I loved the art, and I loved the obscene (in a good way) nature of the images. It was so hot. Since then, I've been a passionate fan of ero manga. I've imported so many Japanese ero manga, even though I don't understand what they're saying, because I love it that much, and it's nice to know that the artists got compensated for their work. I'm not going to lie, I've pirated stuff, but I do also buy a lot of the stuff I pirated. That said, I'm happy that now I have another, better way of getting the content I like, in physical and digital form, DRM-free, in English, uncensored and in high quality, while supporting the artists, all thanks to FAKKU.

On a related note, Wani Magazine has a crap ton of artists whose work I like. When I started getting into ero manga, I started compiling and maintaining a physical list of artists I like and what publishers they published under. Wani easily has the most number of artists I like; Other publishers don't even come close. Now that Kairakuten and X-Eros are being simulpublished, I get to read English versions of many different artists' work who I like. I've actually slowed down on importing Japanese versions of ero manga because FAKKU is now working with Wani to publish English versions. I'm so happy that I finally get to read translated, uncensored versions of Nishi Iori (I really like his work but it never seemed to get scanlated). Anyway, looking at the list of artists Jacob listed in his post, I'm a fan of 17 or so artists from that list, which is a lot, and that's not even counting the other artists that normally publish with Wani, like Kisaragi Gunma, Cuvie, henreader, to name a few. Thanks to these magazines getting translated, I'll also get to read the work of artists I've never heard of and I may even become a fan of their work too!

I know this post is big, but I must confess another reason as to why I'm looking forward to this new direction FAKKU is going in, and it has to do with supporting/compensating the artists for their work; specifically, it has to to with them having incentive to continue drawing ero manga. I'm a fan of tosh's work, who is also known as Saeki Shun, the artist of the manga Food Wars. When I learned that tosh went mainstream, and was no longer doing ero manga (at least I think that's the case), I was devastated (not “someone important to me died devastated,” but you get the point). I was like, “there goes another good artist lost to mainstream.” I respect people's decisions to do what they want with their lives, and I don't expect nor do I demand that they cater to me, but it would have been nice if tosh was still doing porn. I don't know why he went to work on non-porn manga, maybe it was for fame or maybe because it was his dream, or maybe it was because of money; I really don't know. However, if some of these hentai artists leave porn due to financial reasons, it's good to know that with my purchases my dollars will go to the artists and hopefully give them incentive to stay, instead of leave, and continue drawing hot, sexy pictures.

I feel exactly the same as you.
Too bad I don't have the money to import books from the outside (Fakku Books + shipping cost me about 1 week worth of food in my country). But I as well see hentai as art, it's got a magic in it that really makes it outstanding. Thankfully the internet has helped me a lot (specially piracy) to keep in touch with artists, and even finding new artists or artists I never heard before. It has even given me the opportunities to talk directly to some artists on twitter, giving them thanks for their works and efforts (that's the best I can do right now without money) and sometimes even talk about their works or some characters they drew.
Being able to support them is good too. Even though I would love to support them directly, but I have few ways for doing so.
I'm planning on buying books from the artists I really like, though. Takenoko Seijin's Kakusei Kanojo being one of them.
Also it's good to see that with this, new artists will be known, there are already a couple of new artists form past wani anthologies that I really liked.
Spoiler:
Personally I think that piracy has helped a lot of us with finding artists and content we never expected to see, sites like g.e-hentai and translator's sites have been really useful over these years when it comes to expanding and spreading content for everyone (even if their intention wasn't to be legal in the first place) so I think they deserve some thanks as well, but some people just go "you filthy pirates!", "ruining the artists" and stuff like that, but that's another issue. Of course pirates don't have the rights to act so entitled when free porn is taken out of their hands, but I think everyone has been helpful and useful one way or the other.

And yes, I saw comments about Tosh's "departure" from the h-scene to make his non-h manga. Personally I was happy for him, the best thing I could do is wish him luck with his new manga. Same goes with Takeda Hiromitsu and Maken-ki, if they are enjoying what they are doing, I feel happy for them,

I was worried at first, but I'm in full support/trust mode and happy to say I'm on board. I was in a bad mood when I saw that the line up of incest uploads in my notifications were all error screens, but I'm very happy that Fakku is moving in the direction of becoming legit, and it's just that all unlicensed things are being taken down, not just my sweet wincest in particular or something.

More than any guilt I've felt for fapping to something weird, I've been wishing there were an easier way to pay the people who make the things I like (and those notes at the end of scanlations where the author thanks you for buying, guys, oh my god, it's a stab to the gut) than all the weird middle man routes that exist for 90% of everything. I've bought a couple of the books Fakku has put out, probably going to buy more, and I'll pay whatever fee Fakku needs me to pay so I can get what they're offering. And it sounds like they're offering a lot out of the gate when this gets started up in earnest; I have absolutely no reason to think that there won't be even more on the heels of it later.

Frankly, what I care most about is hot incest hentai finding its way into my life, so the promise of "everything" coming to Fakku in one way or another, from a massive list of artists, big and small, sets me at ease. I won't be leaving Fakku any time soon, and I'm honestly very hopeful for its future. This is a big step, and I'm glad to be here watching it happen.

I love CR, personally. I think people aren't saying what their problem is with it because they don't have a clue what they're talking about.

I didn't mean for my post to come out as I'm upset with tosh, because I really, truly am happy for him and Takeda (though I think Takeda is still publishing with Wani, I know he recently published a new book), and I wish them the best in their endeavors. What sucks though is that we probably won't be getting anymore porn from tosh.

There is a lot of good discussion going on in this thread, I'm glad to see a lot of users open up about these changes even if you don't agree with them. Rest assured that I am reading all the replies even though I'm not responding.

I can promise you, the future is bright. I wouldn't make a change like this unless I felt in my heart it was the right change to make. Trust me when I say that this is a good thing for all of us, trust in what we've been able to build here and will continue to build. I want you to take a look at a post I made in 2007, things were a lot different back then. https://www.fakku.net/forums/feedback-suggestions-and-support/new-server-costs

At the time my writing was a little sloppy and I was running FAKKU out of my dorm room/parents basement... but there is one key quote you can take away from that

Eventually I want to start translating the more popular manga titles, I want to talk with Japanese publishers and get them to ship us the actual manga and sell it on the site. There is so much that FAKKU still has in store!

That post was made 3 months after FAKKU first went online almost 9 years ago. This has been my goal, my dream, from the beginning. I did not create FAKKU to be a pirate, I created FAKKU to be a fan. I know what we have coming is a huge change and a little scary, I'm honestly scared too. No one has ever done this before. But that's what makes it so exciting. So I ask one last time for you to put your trust in me, and when this new service launches I hope you choose to support it.

I'm going to lock this thread until tomorrow, I want everyone who can to see this post before it gets bumped off. And I want to give everyone a chance to come up with some good replies for me between now and then.

Here's a reply for you: For those of us who are poor, or live in the developing world, what's the point in continuing to visit the site if most, if not all, of the content will be behind a paywall?

I never said anything about blocking free users from accessing content, just that unlicensed content will all be removed.

So will there be free content or not?

Alright, I'm taking the bait, because this is really starting to piss me off.

There are two things Crunchyroll is notable for:

1. Formerly being a for-profit piracy site, transitioning to a legitimate localization site.

2. Providing a service inferior to piracy, with worse translations, worse typesetting, AND worse video quality.

Neither of these are true of FAKKU. FAKKU has a history of asking for donations, yes, but donations to hit a goal (server costs or whatever). Not true of Crunchyroll. They took "donations" with no limit. They took "donations" to make money.

And I hope I don't have to tell you how bad Crunchyroll's service is, or how good FAKKU's is. But it seems I do, and I heard a picture is worth a thousand words. And this is so very, very disappointing because there's no good reason for video that can be downloaded straight to my computer to be worse than the mess of radio waves that my TV deciphers. And I REALLY hope I don't have to tell you how bad scanlation gets, but here's an example if you're brave enough to look.

The potential for a localization service that is actually superior to piracy is fantastic. We've been seeing it in visual novels, with companies like MangaGamer stepping up their games considerably, providing translations that are actually enjoyable to read. The mere possibility that a fraction of the appreciation for quality found at MangaGamer and FAKKU could somehow spread to the anime industry is a huge reason I support FAKKU wholeheartedly.

Before anything else I want to thank Jacob for all the awesome job, I really think that your expanding the hentai industry in an awesome way, i am on board in paying a monthly fee if there is content that appeals to me.
i have only a couple of questions is there any plans to publish loli manga or magazines like comic lo?
From the podcasts its seems that your open to it but i want to know how much time we will have to wait to get true loli?

Because the content in both Comic Kairakuten and Comic X-Eros is not nearly as controversial as the content in comic lo, and some of my favorite artists like inuboshi, shiwasu no okina, Akatsuki Myuuto, number2 and Higashiyama Show publish their work in most obscure and less know publications.

YQII FAKKU Translator
X-Eros already has some proper loli content (for instance, Gomennasai has a story in #31), but it's more of a mixed bag compared to a publication that completely focuses on one particular genre, like Comic LO. There are a lot of magazines we would like to work on, but we have to begin somewhere, and two of the (if not the) biggest magazines in Japan—and accordingly, the world—is a pretty good starting point.

Unfortunately, I don't think we're in any position right now to say, "in six month's we'll pick up Comic X, and then Comic Y in another two months," but the plan is absolutely to expand in the future. Naturally, we'd have to expand the team as well, so I think a lot depends on how successful this initial magazine service will be.

Okay firstly, people need to stop confusing what people are talking about with censorship in this thread. Not talking about blurred images in pages, it's the choice of content being provided, and it's being objected to because of the sudden complete purge of the controversial tags (loli, monster girl, incest, etc.) and their associated content.

Kisuka wrote...

In regards to official content we publish not appearing under 'controversial tags' such as incest. This is a bug within the tagging system itself, it requires some time to fix. Both Jacob and I are currently working on massive projects right now and have our hands full with Anime Expo prep work. We will get to fixing it ASAP so those tags appear on our officially licensed content again. For the time being, that content should still be accessible to read from the site. If any licensed content does not appear to work, please message me immediately so we can fix those kind of issues.

This is, so far, the most sensible response to the biggest objection in the entire thread, which should've been addressed on page 1 when it was first objected to. Still not sure if that means the controversial tags will continue to exist, since they've been purged (again) and lead to 404's or "content doesn't exist" pages almost everywhere now. This makes the entire site horribly frustrating and broken when subscriptions don't work, and the 40+ notifications I have now (and it keeps climbing everyday) all point to works that no longer exist. So really this needs to be addressed sooner rather than later.

And because you didn't read any of it you don't know that the question is still up in the air and unanswered and objected to by dozens: What the hell does free content even mean under the new direction? In a sane business world, licensed does not equate free. So if everything is going licensed in magazine bundles, and requires paying for entire books according to Jacob, does free exist or not, and what is the scope of that?

As said by Kisuka, the "content doesn't exist" for any tags right now is nothing but a bug. The tags will come back as soon as its sorted out. Especially since FAKKU already has licensed content that falls under a bunch of those tags.

Do that mean we will never get our old stuff back? Because its unlicensed or will it be at some point in the year? Because like 80% of my Favorite are gone and that really disapointing. I hope that doesnt send Fakku to its end, because i really like Fakku, but most people are here because they can have what they want, but not at this point.
