Well, when you posted your list of orders there was a lost auction for it, then you said you "still had your eye on one auction" so it seemed likely! Quite glad of the 18k mandarake price, that's like a 15k auction bid or something, with proxy fees and local shipping and the like.

In other news, I woke up this morning to find out that two other people overbid me on my Asagi cover, -_-. I thought to myself, "I'm about to blast these fools." So, imma go ahead and wait for almost 24 hours and place a bid.

Lame, that really sucks. :/ Hopefully it won't increase for too much. Though remember, if you had the manual bid prompt for that auction you need to get it in sooner. If you were able to bid normally, then you can bid at the last minute; I'd recommend placing a bid just before it hits 5 minutes (look at the close time and figure it out) because any bids placed in the 5 minute range will just add another 5 minutes to the close time.




You should be fine, I'd imagine. It appears to still be in stock on the Japanese page, though I guess that could be the same cover and they just listed it differently on the English page. But I've seen several Comic 1 6 covers sell out on the Japanese page and then go back in stock an hour later.

Yeah that's the same one, and they listed it differently on the english page (by mistake? - possibly since they listed it so fast for me). There's probably still some people left who bought COMIC1 6 stuff waiting to see if the price rises more before selling them (either on YJA or in Mandarake).

Crap... I can't recall how long manual bids take to go through, but it looks like imma have to place it in a few hours before the auction ends then. :[

Yeah, it was probably a mistake. But I still think it's possible they have more than one in stock. It was the Clesta (Nakano) and the Luka cover sell out and then pop back in stock like an hour later. I'm definitely surprised at how reasonable everything seems to be selling for. I won the Monster Hunter cover I wanted for 14k unconstested.



So it did require a manual bid? :( And that's definitely the one thing that's risky about SMJ. I've had times where they've placed a manual bid in minutes of me putting in the request... other times it has taken like 30 hours.

Well, I just signed up for Evening Call, but what is this EXP point, level thing I saw you guys talking about earlier? I think I read about bonuses for staying loyal to them or something.

We were mainly just discussing our interpretation of the translated benefits in the last columns for levels 3-5. Every level gets an increase in point accumulation.

I see. So I'm guessing you can put points toward purchases, reducing the price a bit?

Yep. It's definitely a nice little bonus, but you'd have to buy a ton to have a significant discount (much like AmiAmi's 1% point bonus.)

Exactly, and it's just a cool way to give back to frequent customers. Though the other bonuses are absolutely way, way cooler, even if you really have to work at them.

What were the other bonuses?

My interpretation of the translation:

Level 3: 20 more days to pay
Level 4: A cover of their mascot (who you can now see on their page), free shipping for all orders, and "preferential treatment."
Level 5: This one is a bit harder to interpret, but I think you basically get to choose a character and they'll create a custom and unique cover just for you.

Level 3 is pretty sweet.
Level 4, awesome. "Preferential treatment", eh? Glorious. Free shipping is the cherry on top.
Level 5, fucking sweet. I know what I'd get. But, is it a gift? For free? I wouldn't mind if it wasn't, though.

Yeah, though as I mentioned when we were discussing it previously, I'm not sure if the free shipping would apply to us foreigners but a 500 yen discount per cover might be fair (since that's what they charge for shipping in Japan.) As far as level 5 goes, I'd imagine it would be free, since you need to spend about 960000 yen to get there. :P

Well, reduced shipping would still be great.
And damnnnnnn. That's a pretty ridiculously high amount of spending right there...
