Your anti-virus and anti-spyware of choice?

Well I programmed my own... And no you can't have a copy of it otherwise it isn't as effective.
But what I commonly recommend is both Norton + Adaware. Norton gets the viruses while Adaware gets all that spyware s&*!. Though you can switch out Norton for something that doesn't bog down your system as much.

No antivirus required, running a Mac.HA! i love it when people say this. i get a good chuckle from it. No computer is completely immune to malware and such (although, you'd have to look pretty hard to get something on Linux XD). To not be running at least some form of protection is just asking for something to happen. Needless to say though, like any operating system, common sense is everyone's friend =P
Anyways, i run just Avast on my computer(running XP). Combined with the Firefox add-on NoScript and the occasional scan with when cleaning up junk and such i haven't had a single virus on this computer since i got it last October.

I just run a firewall on my Linux box, and I haven't had any problems yet. If I did this in Windows, I'd probably be on my 7th reinstall by now.
But of course you're right that there are vira for all OS', especially the Mac scene has been growing recently, but Linux is still very much safe, partly because of the swift security updates everytime a hole is exposed.

No antivirus required, running a Mac.Interesting. You're very 'secure'.
"Half the Mac OS X boxes in the world (confirmed on Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger and 10.5 Leopard) can be rooted through AppleScript: osascript -e 'tell app "ARDAgent" to do shell script "whoami"'; Works for normal users and admins, provided the normal user wasn't switched to via fast user switching. Secure? I think not."
And there are already trojans taking advantage of this bad coding. So you aren't secure, and never think that you will ever be.

Spybot S&D for immunise sometimes.Otherwise, none. Only idiots need to download anti-virus programs. Although, my Vista computer has AVG because it's a bit dodgy.
Every once in a while I'll take out a cafe computers hard drive and put in the Cafe's anti-viral computer. Which goes through and scans the hard drive with Kaspersky, McAfee, Norton, AVG, Ad-Aware, Spysweeper, and Prevx1(Best anti-virus ever, little system resources, and it basically just stops the virus from running, allowing me to manually remove it.) After that I return the hard drive to the original computer and run system mechanic 7 pro. I use a few system shutdown tools to automatically disable conflicting anti-virus programs(Gotta hate Norton). Other than that, I never have downloaded an anti-virus program on my own computer. If you know what your doing, there's no need to. But I just can't trust the general public which uses my cafe computers.
I totally agree with Hibia's statement.

Symantec Antivirus Corporate Edition here =)
I got it from work and it's awesome. No annoying popups telling you to update, doesn't bog down your system, and its auto-protect is just plain awesome. If I go to bad websites it will catch em before they can do any harm.

I have the UniBlue Spyeraser, I use it once a month and normally only find cookies, but I mostly use it because I clean out about 20 virus a week from my parents computer with it.

Well for two years I used no type of virus protection or anti-virus software. That's because I don't really download anything and so I don't feel a need to have extra protection if I'm careful about what I do. Yet somehow, during this month I ended up with something called "Anti-Virus 2008" on my computer. Though it's called "Anti-Virus 2008" it's actually a virus/trojan which has the potential to really screw up a computer. I think it was downloaded when I let company use my computer. I shouldn't have offered. But anyway because of the virus I had to download something called SuperAnti Spyware Professional.. which pretty much saved my computer... along with many other tools needed and well it works out pretty good.
