one No Like Spybot cause it stoped me from being able to istall any program that made registry changes 2 avg was struck like a geto whore and Notron both Very Famous for False Positives
Spy sweeper Lame
Bit Defender ok
i use Eset Smart Security. it gets the job done
and the only purpose i have ever had to reinstall my OS was out of my own
Stupidity :)
cause i think i crash my computer 4 times faster than any virus ever could but i also know how to fix every little part of it.

I use Avast! ,as I found it to be more discreet than AVG, and Adaware.
I am pretty happy with the setup, I haven't had virus problems for a very long time....

ESET NOD32. Corporate-quality antivirus. <3 it :)
For free antivirus I'd say Comodo or AVG.
I use Spybot for spyware. (Which I don't get any of.)
Prevention is the best policy. Ffox + NoScript ^^

Using Avast at the moment because when I first started out on AVG, I did not know how to continue the subscription after the initial 30 days. *sweats*Nice! I use that same configuration!

YOUR MOTHER USES GENTOO!
-gestures to his Slackware 12.1 installs- I went back because I don't have any ArchLinux disks. That reminds me, I have to download those when I dial into work next... I'm typing on the keyboard of my laptop which is runnin' Slackware 12.1 and KDE 3.5. Should probably update to 4 sometime...
Anyway, Ubuntu isn't all that great. Claiming to be leet uber hax because you use Ubuntu is like claiming you are a genius because you can correctly operate a blender without removing your fingers.
And at that first joker, Wine wouldn't effect your Linux operating system. The only changes would be to the Windows applications or the wine install. The only way it could effect you is if it was intentionally designed to harm a Linux system running Wine or you were running as root and it mistakenly changed something. Oh, and you will break your OS if you walk in with the idea "It's Linux, there can't be any virus-like applications for such an uncommon OS!". You'll run a rm -rf / script someday as root because someone said it was the fix for your wireless card. -pulls a thumbs up- Good job.

Well at least its not friggin Linpus that they put on my aspire one, its based off of fedora 8, but uses XFCE (Really don't like XFCE). And the instant I finished installing Gentoo on it the video card dies..... still waiting to get it back from acer.

I strongly Suggest Kapersky or Panda Anti Virus, they ain't free, but there are many ways to work around that of course!
