The notion of a God came before America you idiot. Also Muslims have been using Allah as a scapegoat for thousands of years.

Long, not all muslims are like that, I think that's unfair. But I read a book a few days ago saying that to Muslims, the only way to get to paradise is through martyrdom... I wonder how em, I wish I can ask a real Muslim how this really works or someone really knowledgeable about this, always found their culture interesting.

In my experience, the percentage of moronic aetheists is about the same as the percentage of theistic sheep.
Given this thread has yet to produce an actual argument that isn't a knee jerk reaction from a 12 year old, my opnion has not changed.

I know their are Muslims in America but it isn't the main religion.

God is Imaginary.

I dare you to put that site into your own words. It's easy to link, it isn't easy to think.
You have yet to demonstrate the latter.

What is the last good thing your God did? Is all I have to say. If you don't believe in a God then you have nothing to worry about when you die. God like I said is just a way to scare people to be good instead of having freedoms.

What is the last good thing your God did? Is all I have to say. ['/quote]
1) "Your God"? Where did this come from?
2) God supposedly created the universe. I'd say that's a good thing, otherwise nobody would be here to insist he doesn't exist.
3) For all we know God is an Almighty Asshole that gets his kicks from torturing people. Saying he hasn't done any good is not proof of whether he exists or not. It _might_ be proof that the omnibenevolent* God of Christian religions doesn't exist, but then he's also known as a wrathful god who's a douchebag for most of the old testament.
*this is highlighted, because I'm giving you a clue here. Omnibenevolence has been used tologically prove that the Christian God _doesn't_ exist, but I'm waiting for someone to actually bring this up rather than spout angsty "Boohoo my life so so bad, so God doesn't exist" arguments.
[quote]
If you don't believe in a God then you have nothing to worry about when you die.
Except if he _does_ exist, in which case you'd look very embarassed in the afterlife. Better hope he's not an Almighty Asshole.
God like I said is just a way to scare people to be good instead of having freedoms.
_maybe_ true, but isn't proof or the existence or non-existence of God. Insisting this is proof that God is imaginary is like saying hotdogs taste good (maybe true), therefore hotdogs don't exist.

Well... Now you know =P
Only the fact that I have never seen God, or had him speak to me, or having anything happen that would make me believe in an existence such as God.

You are either Atheist or theist.Agnostic is not a belief but a knowledge based statement which can be assed to the ends of a belief.
I am an atheist agnostic.
Saying you are just agnostic does not answer the question.
Don't try being smart when you can't. Being agnostic simply means that I do not know and cannot know whether there a God or any supernatural and spiritual phenomena exists in this world, and therefore I prefer not to take any absolute stand.
Atheist and theist agnosticism are subcategories, and there are several more than just those two. If I'm forced by you to choose, I'd call myself a Strong agnostic (or w/e name you chose to use for it, there are several in use).

I can safely say i do not believe in it.
I was told if I were to pray to this supposive "god" that my mothers lung cancer would go away, so I did for the last seven months of her life after we found out. Did she live? no. it it get any better? no.
I believe it is a false hope for people so that they may not fear death or that they have something to use as a shield when feeling down or uneasy about their troubles.
If people choose to believe in it, they can. But in the end. What will it be worth?
A less stressful life? maybe. but its not god thats doing it. Its luck. all luck.
Sorry if i offended anyone.

Shouldn't not having to worry about going to church, pray and going to hell be considered a lot less stressful? Well, what do I know.

Even though i'm a Catholic and everything, I always couldn't help but to wonder about everything the people say about prayer.
Why, out of all people, would a god or God choose himself/herself/itself to help you or your relatives? You've done good things? Been faithful? So have millions of others.
On another note, I'm always disappointed when they reply "Its a test of faith."

I'm not an atheist. But then I'm not really specific either... More on the christian side? Like I believe in one god and Jesus but not the details... I guess I can be called a bad example.
My belief is simple. If you meant no harm to the world, you'll go to a peaceful afterlife. While you go to hell if you meant harm on purpose. I dunno what to call myself....
But I believe that everything has a meaning to what happens, good or bad.
Just sayin my opinion. And Peace. Don't start clapin at me. DX

I don't understand the quote that says if you don't belief in god you got nothing to worry about when you die.
That means when you die you have a world of nothingness which isn't that like some sort of hell where you no longer exist. So even then you could still say a hell exists if God doesn't.

Matthew 21:21
I tell you the truth, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and it will be done. If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.
The Bible says if you believe and have faith then your prayers will go answered. I used to believe in God but when I prayed for uncle to be healthy and a find a way to get cured and out of the mental hospital did God answer no. And if he did answer it was with my uncle commiting suicide. Why would anyone wanna believe such crap after that?

This is just my opinion.
I don't believe in God, but i believe that there is an entity more powerful than human kind.
And that entity is the one that created us.
edit*
I think this phrase fits this topic perfectly.
Oh so many ways for me to show you
How your dogma has abandoned you.
Pray to your christ, to your god.
Never taste of the fruit,
Never stray, never break,
Never choke on a lie,
Even though he's the one who did this to you
Never thought to question why.

I think you have that backwards any body I've met who believes and is going to die they have no fear, but I've met people who don't believe and have fear of death, but I don't think it matters if you believe or not people fear death equally.

The thing about praying there is some thing in the bible about that all thing physical must be done along with prayer and it can't effect free will.
