Shojo Material also has a two-parter.

F4U has a girl who shows up in the first and last chapter, so her story is sort of also
continued.

Job of the Service committee member highlights a different girl of the same group, so you see the same girls throughout the whole book interacting with each other.

And then of course there is Hanafuda which is all one gorgeous, continous story.

Damn. No library for me.

My boyfriend bought me a ticket, when neither of us ever do lotteries ever.

Apparently we're buying Teslas if we win.

And I get my Beauty and the Beast library.

Fakku has it's own official translators it employs.

We were far from the only site to release scanlations. You can check elsewhere on the net for scanlation releases, or better yet go directly to the scanlator's websites for releases.

Just because we stopped being one of many scanlation distributors doesn't mean the content will stop.

Fakku has ben the best site for me. But I cant afford to leave a trail, with any sort of payment plan. Plus loli is gone and a bunch of others so what do I even fap to? #notworth

Loli isn't gone.

Check your settings for controversial content. We've released a number of loli, and have officially released Gomennasai and Henreader, to name a few.

And there are prepaid debit cards you can buy and not have it officially go on any records. We're also soon returning bitcoin payments.

Jaccob, is that the cover credit on the bottom right of the X-Eros cover or just some featured artists? If not the credit, who drew those lovelies?

Kojima Saya for the X-Eros, and Hamao for Kairakuten.

Artists don't always have chapters in the magazine, sometimes they're guest artist. However for this month we're getting a Hamao chapter.

I completely support Fakku's decision, and i thought this would happen because of the success of Fakku. Problems for me becoming a subscriber: I'm a woman. I don't read that much doujin, I suspect a lot of women don't. Our hormones encourage us to seek this out less frequently than guys. So $9/month really translates to $9/ up to 5 days use. A monthly commitment doesn't make a lot of sense for me. You might devise a system for impulse shoppers? Day fee? You'll capture more women that way.

I rarely ever use Fakku to release hormonal impulses (woman also with a boyfriend). I genuinely find a lot of hentai manga funny as hell and read it mainly for entertainment. I like you wouldn't vist everyday.

We're still working out stuff with the subscription, but some people do like to skip months. That way next time you subscribe you'll still also have all of the manga you missing from the previous months as well as the current month.

As to Hertzfeldt's question, we have one other Succubus chapter releasing this month. It's unfortunately how rare monster girls are in these magazines, but this month we've been lucky.

I found out on the bus on the way to work yesterday, and I ended up being one of those weirdos who cry on buses. Growing up my mom was always a huge David Bowie fan, so he was always in my life in some form. Feels like I lost an old friend.

But really, though, he just went home to the stars.

I'm a serious introvert IRL, pretty shy and have problems talking to people a lot. But I play a lot of videogames, so when I'm playing MMOs and the like, I lose quite a bit of that shyness, so yeah, I think I act differently in online social settings vs IRL.

But, if I get to know people IRL, that shyness goes away, so... eventually I get to my online self??

Digital psychology is weird.

Always a huge fan of physical copies of books so i'm sure i'll prefer those once they get here and I stash em behind my Stephen king books. Though i'll admit i'm enjoying the digital copies just for the discreet aspect of reading this kind of stuff with a family around.

Same. I have so much manga in general though, that it's all two rows deep to fit on my manga shelf, so IF I wanted to hide them I'd just send them to the back row. Thankfully I don't live with anyone anymore that I feel the needs their eyes saving.

wow, well this sucks.

i mean, i totally understand the reasoning behind it and i fully support it, but i just can't afford to pay $12.95 a month for pornography aha. that money's enough to spend on things that'd be more valuable to me in life, i've never understood paying for pornographic content in any capacity when so much of it is out there for free.

yes, the creators need to make their money, and there are people out there willing to pay so my decision to not pay isn't exactly going to effect it, but this was the site i'd always come to for doujins, guess that's not the case anymore.

i'll stick around on the forums because it's a generally interesting place to be and i'll keep an eye on pricing and the options that come available, but $12.95 is asking too much.

The problem is it isn't just porn. It's been addressed several times, but these are comics. Yes, manga with a sexual nature, but manga just the same. They cost they same to produce as any other manga series you may buy, and therefore we have to go through the same fees and contracts that a company like Viz might go through in order to bring this content legally here. The biggest problem though is these comics have a very niche audience, (and some companies refuse to work with us because of their adult content) so because of that they cost a bit more to produce. Unfortunately we are not a huge company like Viz, we're only a small independent publisher, so we need whatever support our readers can give us.

We understand that some people just can not afford the current price, or our genre options are lacking for their personal tastes, but for those people we plan on adding some free content and expanding our selection, so please stick with us.

but I think most of Fakku's subscription work is not out there

This is false, a great majority of the FAKKU content is readily available for anyone that know how to do a simple Google search. It's almost like a cruel joke that the pirate sites often rank higher on the result lists then FAKKU does.

I feel we need to remind people of the distinction between full on pirated rips and scanlations. Fakku, though it no longer hosts scanlations, supports scanlators. Most of the staff such as myself are former scanlators.

So you guys will have no problems if people take your releases, translate it to their native language and re-upload it?

I agree with this guy. The point made by the scanlator its a double edge sword. That means I can freely download the content and upload it anywhere on the internet, as long as its translated to another language. Say spanish, in hopes other companies will have the same idea as fakku. Hey man, I wouldn't be doing wrong by that logic.

Also yes most of its content its already in pirate websites. In Spanish, Portugues and even German. Its cruel irony, when you think of it.

I stated that scanlations were still illegal. Perhaps my use of the word "support" was too strong? Looking back on it it was a poor choice. The point of my post was that Fakku is not out to vilify and go after scanlations.

Every scanlator knows what they're doing is illegal, and that by producing them stands the risk of receiving a DMCA notice, or more, from whoever holds the rights to the work. Fakku has the right to send out DMCA notices for their work, and Wani very actively does this for all their property no matter what the country or language. Unlicensed in your language or not, the original creator holds the right to the work.

Our goal is not to shut down scanlation sites, but to make it so that they're no longer needed for the fans.
Romana FAKKU Letterer
I feel we need to remind people of the distinction between full on pirated rips and scanlations. Fakku, though it no longer hosts scanlations, supports scanlators. Most of the staff such as myself are former scanlators.

The goal of MOST scanlators is to translate and edit manga in their own language when the series is not legally licensed in their language. By doing this they help bring to the attention of licensors what series are popular online, and usually once the series was picked up by a company the scanlators would then pick up a different project. Yes, they're still "pirating" but usually it's with good intentions, and they constantly tell you to support the artist by purchasing the original Japanese content until it's licensed. Some people feel even this is morally questionable.

Now there is a distinction between this original goal, and the scanlators who would scanlate Shonen Jump series that were already licensed, like Naruto, but felt they had a "right" to continue scanlating since Viz was behind on releasing content in the US. However this doesn't apply in this instance, especially since we're releasing the chapters within the same month as Japan.

Rippers are full on pirates. They take licensed material, and illegally post it on the internet even when there is a legal alternative. Fakku chapters on other sites are not "scanlations". Our chapters are fully licensed and produced content that supports the industry and original artists. What people are reading on other sites are rips of illegally shared content. You're not supporting anyone by using them.

But pirating will happen. It's the internet. The best we at Fakku can do is try to make a product that people feel deserves support, and to turn to us instead when faced with the option.

Hello Kisuka! Just so there isn't a misunderstanding: Subscribing means temporary access to all doujinshi, right? I don't care that much about being able to read offline, that's not exactly a problem, but I'd like to buy permanent access to a whole magazine instead, you see? Just like how it works with the books :) If you make the magazines as a whole buyable, shouldn't that fix the PayPal problem??? Please just make that a possibility! By that, I could use my favorite payment method AND problem no. 1 would be solved!

Regarding my phone, I already spoke with Daiz about that. I am running a Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini with standard Android 4.1.2. Normally available RAM: 450 MB. Let me just wipe my phone and install Cyanogen Mod with Android 4.4.4 :P

Yes, subscribing means monthly access to all our magazine chapters. (what few doujinshi we have left on the site are mostly free and submitted by their artists) We don't have a permanent option for subscribing to our monthly content yet, but even if we did the content is still considered digital adult porn by paypal, which they are against. If it were physical, like our books we publish, then we could use paypal. As much as we'd like to make a physical magazine, it more than likely would be a single special collectible issue released once a year.

We are trying to find a way around the paypal issue, so hopefully something will be worked out soon.

A good decision made in a bad moment. you don't have enough content.
I give you two months to bring back stuff like ShindoL, Yamatogawa, Shiwasu no okina licenced.

We have yet to make any deals with other publishers outside of Wani, so unless Yamatogawa and Shiwasu no okina are Wani artists, it's unlikely they will appear on our site in the time-frame you have demanded.

ShindoL we however are trying to work a deal with. But even if we don't get him back, we encourage you to go directly to him if you want to read his work. He's actually from Queens, New York, and is very much aware of the piracy of his work in the West.

Another one of my favorites which is pretty much photos only is suicidegirls.Com Their monthly subscription is 12 dollars a month and it's all self produced content, be it in house or model submitted.

Seeing as most of their shoots are in house and consists of a model, a photographer, and maybe someone to do lighting, it's a safe bet that a single chapter of our manga releases costs more to produce.

But either way when you get down to it you're comparing apples to oranges. This is manga, not an amature porn video someone is making. You may not like the subscription price but this what we have to charge so that everyone involved in production gets paid. If we had the same subscriber numbers as crunchyroll or Hulu we could offer it at a cheaper price, but our product isn't theirs.

Proof? Dude it's 4:30 where I'm at, I'm rubbing one out on another site and fishing for someone to apologize or at least accept blame on this forum(mostly because I'm bored). You're in this string and he was in this string around 5mins when his comment and the -1 was posted. Also for the most part either a staff member, or a "major" "D" rider would be mad at the comment I posted. More than likely a staff member but I need proof? Lol he can deny it but I'll still know it was him... kind of like the OJ case lol.

Also "suicidal"? You're taking it way too serious lol

It's obvious you're out to vilify Fakku no matter what, but please refrain from throwing insults at other users.

As to the negative rep, I don't see a point to it or use it, but to prove to you I didn't give you that negative rep (many people browse the site at various times) I went ahead and gave you a negative rep on the post you accused me of. People are unable to negative rep the same post more than once. The original negative rep you got from someone else.

I am not responding to your "feedback" because that is not my job. No matter what the warnings would have gone unnoticed by a percentage of the user base.

I'm sorry you lost whatever time you did creating your favorites list.

There goes that "so what" attitude again by people who want you to pay for services, great customer service lol. You do know that the majority of users on this site come to fap and don't peruse the forums on a regular basis right? Why do you think you guys are receiving so much backlash? You can't be that much in denial about how poor you and the rest of Fakku handled this situation...could you?

ryamain isn't a staff member, he is a fellow Fakku user like yourself.

The situation about the unlicensed content being removed from everyone's favorite lists is unfortunate, but we have given various warnings over the last year. There is only so much we can do for people focused only on fapping.

All of the illegal content came from other sources on the net, and you more than likely can still find it. You however will no longer be able to read unlicensed content on Fakku.
Romana FAKKU Letterer
I would also point out that Shonen jump is just now starting to simulcast specific titles (which I could be wrong but is a separate subscription fee?), and they don't produce the full Japanese magazine for an English audience. Viz does what they can but also select just the titles the want to license and release the books to.

Digital infinitely and freely reproducible content = limited quantity physical product.

Amazing.

Just because it's digital doesn't make the product any less real. The artists who create all these comics need to pay for rent and food just like the farmer who raised that cow had to. Then you'be got to pay the transporter, the butcher, etc. Welcome to the world of Capitalism.
