Sing for Absolution ~ Muse

Feena from Grandia 1 was my waifu for the longest time. I don't really have her in my thoughts these days though. So I guess my current waifu is Haruna, the female lead from a manga called Highschool Debut.

The only thing I'm looking forward to right now is dropping my VG demo by the end of next year. I'll be a happy soldier if we can manage that.

Well, let me share something my game designer told me the other day regarding how video games and story plot function: "Video games are usually an open book"

He gave a great example. FF7 was a very transparent game regarding the story. You knew who the enemies were, you knew the mission/conflict, you knew a lot of the plot devices as you played through the game. There really weren't that many secrets from the beginning to the end.

With that said, while it's great to leave somethings to the player's imagination, you don't want to leave things in the dark in an interactive medium like video games. That isn't to say that I'm giving out direct spoilers to the plot, I'm just giving you guys a deep understanding in case you find the basic premise interesting. I want you to expect certain elements about the game once you sit down and play it because, let's face it, the story is a minor part of the fun factor in video games. At this point, it's the gameplay I'm generally focused on making interesting for ppl. I don't want the game to be just a cookie cutter, jrpg wannabe. I'm gunning for it to be the best rpg available in market. it's a rather ambitious goal, but if I didn't have that in mind for my baby 5+ years in the making, then I would've quit a long time ago due to various issues in the process of getting it developed.

As a writer, my biggest challenge is to compress and convert the story into a format suitable for a video game. My instincts keep telling me to conceal information to players and only reveal certain things as they progress, but as I've been told and heard from other sources, that can actually be counter productive. Video games are a unique form of media that can't be compared to more classic forms such as books, comics, movies, etc. Before my game designer came into the picture, I was looking at writing for video games in the same sense as writing for a book. Which wasn't good. While I'm redesigning my approach, I'm doing extra homework by reading books specifically catered to writing for video games.

I just want to announce, that Project FinalBoss is an official indie gaming company. ZIN is still under development, but the demo for it should be ready late 2019. I signed on board a game designer who has been a great help converting my story into a playable video game. I honestly think that without his help, ZIN may not have been a feasible concept for a game. The game is now going to use the unreal engine, but it will be a turn based rpg rather than action turn based. I've also made changes to character names as well as role changes among a few characters. In between working on the demo and actual game, I am working on two websites, a .org and .com of PROJECT FINALBOSS CORP. The .org website will focus on ZIN as well as other projects and merchandise revolving around the PFB brand. The .com site will host a blog, a php coded web rpg (free of charge) and portals/attractions to other side projects that I'm apart of. There's been quite a few updates and changes to ZIN, which will all be addressed on the .org site once that is fully operational.

Hey guys, been awhile. Just want to give a status report for my progress on the game. Right now I'm happy to report that I have enough material to get started on a Demo for ZIN. I'm currently in the process of doing screening tests for voice actors, 3D designers and SFX/BGM composers. If you're interested in applying for any of those positions then feel free to do so at the discord server, pm or my dev email (finalb@projectfinalboss.com). Do note, that you are applying for Revenue-Share long term and it is not a prepaid position (meaning, you only get paid a portion of the profit earned based on the position(s) you take). A couple people signed up for voice actor roles and I'm sampling music from a few composers I found on Reddit. I'm very excited to get the demo up and running. If the finished demo gets a good reception, I'll put up a kickstarter to help finish the game. Thanks to those on the thread who supported my idea. I'll definitely need beta testers once the finishing touches are done, you'll be the first peeps I ask to do the honors. Cheers.

Big announcement guys: I just got finished filing for my C Corporation licence. So now it's official: PROJECT FINALBOSS CORP. is a real gaming studio. This will be the first time in years I cried. The next time I cry is when I release my video game ZIN and it becomes a smash indie rpg hit. Then I'll run out of tears due to decades of desensitization of watching hentai.

Hey Leonard, congrats on making the big 10 yrs. And thank you for voice acting a few minor roles for my video game.

Pennsylvania, always lived here. I'll probably move one day though cause there isn't much to look forward to here. I'd probably want to move to Las Vegas and go from a hoopty to a porsche.

There's only a select few forums out there that are jumping nowadays. Trends are changing in terms of how we communicate. I'm more on twitch and discord than anything else.

I hope he far outlives his and the doctors deadline to his doom, and that's from the heart.
